County Oak manfacture quality Oak garden rooms which combine the distinctive beauty of seasoned Oak with the technical design and innovation developed over the last 25 years in the hardwood orangery and conservatory market.
In simple terms a Garden Room is a Conservatory with a tiled roof. These can be used as additional rooms or can be created into stunning porch designs. See Other Oak Products for more examples of the creative use of Oak.
All roofing materials will produce design constraints as different materials have different minimum roof pitches.
For example, a lean-to conservatory can have a roof pitch as low as
8° but generally, a Garden Room has to comply with the following constraints;
• Hand made clay tiles – minimum roof pitch 40°
• Machine made clay tiles – minimum roof pitch 35°
• Slates – minimum roof pitch 25°
Generally an Oak Framed Garden Room, similar to a Conservatory or Orangery, will have exposed Oak rafters and Tie Beams, adding to the charismatic feel of the building.
If the pitch of the roof interferes with first floor windows or other features, then an oak orangery may be the solution by integrating a glazed lantern within a flat roof.
We can also supply additional oak doors and windows for your property to match your new garden room. Find our more on our other oak products page.
