County Oak

Next Steps

Design ConsultationIt begins with a visit from one of our experienced designers to gather your detailed brief. Your designer will explore ideas with you, take inspiration from the architecture of your house, the way you live and they will produce a design concept that reflects your requirements.

There may be a number of revisions to the scheme during this process but once the final design is approved, a detailed specification is generated detailing what is included along with an order form that is signed by the customer. Head office then countersigns the form and becomes the contract. A dedicated point of contact will be allocated to you that will oversee the next part of the process which includes the survey.

Structural Survey

Our own surveyor will visit your home to take a series of precise measurements. This will include exterior and interior measurements together with confirming your chosen specification.

Planning Permissions

If any consents are required our in house team of specialists will complete all the relevant drawings and submit to the local authority for approval. You will not have to be involved in this process. We do it all on your behalf!

Working Drawings

Our in house CAD technicians will draw each project to ensure all details are correct. By setting out our drawings clearly and accurately, we can be sure that every aspect of the project is understood by the entire team, including the bricklayers, the joiners and the client.

Building WorksScheduling & Project Management

Once planning permission has been obtained, we will send you a schedule showing the work sequence from our proposed start date. You will then have one of our experienced project managers on hand to guide you through the rest of the build, liaising with all trades and keeping you informed at every stage.

Building Works

Work will begin on the day scheduled, when our builders or your chosen builder will arrive and dig and pour the foundations. If necessary, they will adjust the drains, lay rainwater pipes and remove any spoil from site. Bricklayers will then deal with any masonry required, whilst plans of the first fix electrics are organised.

Joinery

Meanwhile your oak frames, windows and doors will be manufactured by our own experienced craftsman in our purpose built factory. We will pre-assemble all the relevant timber components and check the finished measurements. Glazing is added at the end of this process.

Construction

As the groundworks are being completed, the timber sections will be delivered to your site. Our fitting team will then construct the oak frame and assemble the roof, timber windows and doors, all overseen by your project manager. If it is part of your plan to remove existing walls our builders will return to site and ‘knock through’ with the minimal fuss and mess. As the main structure including roofing is completed your property will be both secured and protected from the elements.

County Oak - CompletionFinishing Touches

Once we have completed the main structure and achieved a water-tight sealed building, we will complete second fix electrics and plaster. If required plumbing for under floor heating will be installed. Finally your chosen flooring can be laid.

Completion

Finally, when we are completely satisfied with every component of the building, your finished project will be signed off and a certificate of guarantee will be issued.

And Finally...

Add your chosen furniture, put your feet up, and enjoy the endless benefits of your beautiful County Oak addition to your home.
